PK Machine Gun

The PK Machine gun, referred to as the PKM, is a weapon featured in Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Mechanics[]

The PK is a general-purpose machine gun developed in the 1960s by the Soviet Union to replace the SGM and RPD machine guns. It is currently in use by the Russian military and has been exported worldwide. The PK stood for "Pulemyot Kalashnikova" (Пулемёт Калашникова) meaning "Kalashnikov's Machinegun". The PK fired 7.62mm Eastern Bloc ammunition (which was originally used for the Mosin-Nagant rifle). It is equipped with a bipod and designed for a squad-support weapon. It is also suitable for mounting on vehicles or aircraft. The PKM (which is used in the game), is a modernized and product-improved version which only weighs 7.5kg unloaded.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel[]

The PKM is one of three weapons (the others being the M24, and the C75) and the only machine gun used in the game that is not used by enemies. The PKM is first seen as one of three weapons tested in Raytown by PKI mercenaries that Michael Duke was trading to Jesús Mendoza (Eddie Guerra in disguise), to help the Mendoza Cartel strengthen their arsenal. It is later seen at the Alcazar leaning on weapon crates. It is unlocked by completing the mission "Ghost Town".
