M72 LAW

The M72 LAW rocket launcher is referred to as the M72 LAW. It is featured in Call of Juarez: The Cartel.

Mechanics[]

The M72 LAW consists of a launcher made of two tubes. While closed, the outer tube acts as a container for the rocket. When fired, the striker in the rear tube hits the primer which ingites a small amount of powder that flashes, igniting the propellant in the rocket motor, firing the warhead. The M72 LAW is a single use weapon (meaning that after it is fired, it is not reloadable). This was to prevent enemy forces from using the weapon. In fact, soldiers were ordered to destroy the weapon after firing.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel[]

The M72 LAW is the game's only rocket launcher, and is used by many enemy groups. Enemies will use it with a laser guider, however, this telegraphs where the rocket will strike, giving the player time to get out of the way. The M72 LAW is normally available to the player during helicopter attacks. Interestingly, it is easier to hit the helicopter without aiming down the sights.

Users[]

  • Araña gangsters
  • Vatos Locos gangsters
  • Mendoza Cartel members

Trivia[]

  • The M72 LAW ingame is depicted as being reloadable (similar to a bazooka, which Eddie refers to it as), however, the M72 LAW is single use only.
