Eagle Pass (founded c. 1840s) is a town that features in Call of Juarez: The Cartel.
Background[]
Eagle Pass was the first American settlement on the Rio Grande. It was originally formed as Camp Eagle Pass which house Texas militia who were ordered to stop trade during the Mexican-American War. In 1850 Rick Pawless opened a trading post named Eagle Pass. In 1871 Maverick County was formed, and Eagle Pass was labeled a county seat.
Call of Juarez: The Cartel[]
While not physically visited, the Interagency Task Force heads to the Gray Horse bus station to pick up evidence Kevin Donleavy had. It was a cd that contained a message from Patrick Stone detailing the mole inside the Justice Department. After hearing the message, the team heads to New Mexico to get to a fort on the Mexican side of the border.
Trivia[]
- The city could be a reference to the film "No Country for Old Men". The protagonist Llewellyn Moss goes to the town to escape from antagonist Anton Chigurh. No Country for Old Men and Call of Juarez: The Cartel both are part of the neo-western genre.
- Even though it appears only in a cutscene, Eagle Pass is the second time Texas appears in a Call of Juarez game. The first was Call of Juarez, where a majority of the game is set in Texas.
- It is currently unknown what connection the Gray Horse bus station has with Ben and Donleavy, as Ben knew exactly where Donleavy had meant for them to go.
